John Roil Bush Saftey

John Roil came to yesterday to talk to us about bush  safety.  Here will be a guide to help you get ready for your next tramping trip.

Rule’s
The first rule of tramping is Tell someone. Tell someone where you're going at what time and what you will be back by. The second one is Plan your route. Plan where you are going and tell someone the route you are on. The third is Training. Train walking and running maybe a kilometer everyday and brake in your shoes . The last one and certainly not least is Pack the right gear. Pack or the right gear and you will alright.

Gear
The gear you need is a bag of course. you need a map, water bottle, sleeping bag, billy bag, gas bottle and element, compass, whistle. You need these Things or you will be not bush worthy. Make sure you put all you’re sleeping gear at the bottom of your bag so it is out of the way. make sure that you know that you have everything so you are good to go. On the day you go have a checklist and tick everything as you go through your bag.

Clothes
It is very important to have some nice warm clothes like some woolen long sleeve top, Some woolen socks, woolen long pant’s with short’s to go over the top. A beanie. boot’s(lace up) and most important you need a rain jacket for cold conditions and really bad rain.

Emergency
You need a GPS to help you get round in the bush. You need a emergency beaker to report an accident. You need a torch and batteries to help get around in the dark. Do not ever pack a cell phone because normally there will be no cell service. Remember to have a First aid kit.If you are lost report thought your beaker and blow your whistle and  the most important thing to remember is STAY PUT.

I hope this guide help you get ready in the bush. Have a safe Holiday in the bush next holidays.
